We got to show off little Samuel a few weeks ago when he came in for newborn portraits at just two weeks old. Now all Mom and Dad's friends and family will get to enjoy his sweet face in this announcement we created for the new parents.
A few sneak peeks from our recent sessions in Troy.
If you thought we forgot all about the special contest we posted in July, but we didn't! We asked blog readers to share their favorite simple pleasure of beach life and got a lot of great responses. It was hard to pick! But we just kept smiling (and tearing up) at Angie King's simple pleasure from childhood that has followed her into her adult life.
"I know this may sound crazy but here it goes...When I was a kid, about 7, we were at the beach and you know around our beaches the shells and sand dollars are not all that big and the sand dollars are always broken. My parents would go buy shells and such, that were GREAT, I mean big good ones! They would walk in front of me or distract me and throw them out, so when I would go searching I would find these really awesome shells (that were actually store bought..ha..ha..) So now when we go to the beach...you have folks from all over especially those from up North who don't have the luxary of living close to the beach and finding shells..so off to the store we go and I "bait" shells out for people to find, and the amazement on their face is not only priceless, but HILARIOUS!! I know this is a silly tradition, but we have been doing it for over 20 years now and every year gets better!!"

The last week was a busy one and we are behind on our blogging. We will play catch up this week. Soooo much cute stuff to share.
I wanted start out on a personal note. Back to school time has made me a little sad that another year has passed, so on Friday I decided it was time to make a memory. I hear so often, “you must have so many pictures of your children.” Truthfully, not so many. “The cobbler’s children have no shoes.” So at 7:00 on Friday afternoon we decided to hit the creek out back. Probably the best photos I've made of my son required no planning and no new clothes, just a little adventure. I always advise concerned clients to just put kids in something they already have and like. I think the memories that will be most precious in twenty years are the ones that are natural and real. Don’t stress about it.
Hope you don’t mind me showing off my little man. My daughter is more of a fashion girl(12 years old) I’ll show her session soon. — Kim
